About Madinah and its timings

Madinah began as a farming oasis on the edge of the Hijaz, living for centuries on date palms and groundwater before it became the first capital of the Muslim state. Its layout still carries that origin: old orchards sit inside the built fabric, and neighbourhoods circle the Prophet's Mosque. The air is drier than in Jeddah or Makkah, and nights are noticeably cooler because of the altitude.

At over six hundred metres the horizon is clearer here, so dawn light reads slightly earlier than in the nearby coastal cities.
