What we actually use

We rely mainly on browser local storage, not tracking cookies. It holds: your language, city and calculation method, font size and Mushaf display mode, bookmarks and reading position, tasbih counter, Hajj and Umrah checklists, and your adhan alert setting.

Functional preferences stay on your device, while random measurement identifiers and limited usage data are sent as detailed in the privacy policy. Enabling adhan alerts also stores the necessary subscription data on our servers.

Strictly necessary cookies

We may use a technically necessary cookie to run a session or protect against abuse. Such cookies do not require prior consent because they are required to deliver the service you asked for.

Measurement and Google tools

Google Search Console is an owner-side tool and sets no cookies in your browser.

We use first-party measurement with random identifiers and Google Analytics 4 to measure visits and engagement. It may use measurement cookies such as _ga. You can disable it with the official opt-out add-on or browser blocking tools. Details appear in How Google uses information.

Advertising cookies

There are no advertising cookies on the site today. If we enable Google AdSense, Google and its partners will use cookies (including the DoubleClick/DART cookie) to serve and measure ads. You can turn off personalisation in Google Ad Center or Ad Settings, and for other vendors via aboutads.info/choices and optout.networkadvertising.org. The rules are in Google's advertising policies.

We will update this page and its date before any ad network goes live; usage details are in the privacy policy.

What we do not use

No retargeting, no device fingerprinting, no advertising identifiers shared with data brokers, and no sale of your data - see California privacy.

How to control it

You can clear local data in browser settings. To remove a server-held adhan subscription, disable alerts inside the site; for other data requests email privacy@wesalna.com.
