Who we are and what this covers
This policy covers wesalna.com and every section of it: Quran, prayer times, Qibla, Hijri calendar, tools, stories, articles, Quran radio, and the Hajj and Umrah guides.
For privacy questions write to privacy@wesalna.com or use the contact page.
No sign-up, no profile
Every core feature works without registration: reading, listening, prayer times, Qibla, calendar, calculators, azkar and the Hajj and Umrah checklists. We ask for no name, email or phone number.
What is stored on your device
Language, city and calculation method, font size and Mushaf display mode, chosen reciter, bookmarks and reading position, tasbih counter, checklists and the adhan alert state. These live in your browser's local storage and are never sent to us as a profile. Details in the cookie and local storage policy.
Location
Location permission is requested only when you tap detect, and is used to compute prayer times, Qibla and weather. You can choose a city manually instead.
Without permission we may infer an approximate city from your IP address to pick a sensible timezone. We build no history of your locations.
Third-party services
Quran text, recitations, weather and metal rates come from trusted providers, and as with any web request your IP is visible to them. The provider list is on the data sources page.
The Dhaki assistant sends your question and page context to an AI provider to generate an answer. Do not send it sensitive or personally identifying information.
Measurement, analytics and webmaster tools
We use Google Search Console to monitor how the site appears in search results and whether indexing is healthy. It shows us aggregated query and page data, sets no cookies in your browser and does not identify you.
We may use Google Analytics 4 to measure traffic and which pages are genuinely useful. When enabled it collects aggregated usage data (page, device, approximate country, referrer) under a random identifier, with IP masking enabled as far as the platform allows. You can opt out entirely with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on or by blocking cookies in your browser. How Google handles this data is described in How Google uses information from sites that use its services and the Google privacy policy.
We never link measurement data to your identity, never build a profile from it, and never send it what you read or ask.
Advertising and third-party networks
We may display ads from Google AdSense and comparable networks. When that happens:
Google and its partners use cookies and identifiers (including the DoubleClick/DART cookie) to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites, as described in How Google uses information from sites that use its services.
You can turn off personalised advertising in Google Ad Center or Google Ad Settings, and for other vendors via aboutads.info/choices, youronlinechoices.eu and optout.networkadvertising.org.
What we allow is governed by Google's advertising policies and the AdSense program policies. We allow no ads at odds with the nature of the platform, no ads targeted at children, and no ads placed inside the Mushaf text where they would disrupt reading.
Any ad or sponsored item is clearly separated from our editorial content, per the editorial policy. The cookie policy will be updated with each network's specifics before ads go live.
Your rights and deleting your data
Clearing this site's data in your browser immediately removes everything we store about you. Where extra regimes apply, see GDPR rights, California privacy and children's privacy.
Changes to this policy
When we add a feature that changes how data is handled - an inheritance calculator, user accounts or advertising - we update this page and the last updated date at the top.
