About Dammam and its timings
Dammam was a small fishing village on the Gulf until oil was struck at Dammam Well No. 7 in 1938. Today it is the capital of the Eastern Province and forms one continuous metro with Khobar and Dhahran. Summer humidity on the coast is high, and the open sea horizon makes sunrise and sunset easy to see.
Dammam lies at the far east of the Kingdom, so its prayers come about a quarter of an hour before Riyadh and some forty minutes before Makkah, though all share one clock.
