About Fez and its timings
Fez is one of Morocco's oldest cities, founded by the Idrisids in the eighth century, and its old medina, Fes el-Bali, is among the largest inhabited historic towns in the world. It is home to the Qarawiyyin Mosque, founded by Fatima al-Fihri in 859, around which grew one of the oldest centres of learning in the Muslim world. The city sits in an inland basin far from the sea, with hot summers and cold winters.
Morocco keeps GMT+1 all year and returns to GMT during Ramadan, so Fez prayer times shift by a full hour on the clock when the month begins and ends.
