About Alexandria and its timings
Alexandria is Egypt's second city and its main Mediterranean port, stretching along more than thirty kilometres of coast. Muslims entered it under Amr ibn al-As in 21 AH, and it became a centre of learning and Sufism. The white-domed Abu al-Abbas al-Mursi Mosque in Anfoushi is its best-known Islamic landmark.
Alexandria lies northwest of Cairo, so its Maghrib comes about six minutes later and summer days are a little longer.
