How the plan is calculated
The split is weighted by pages, not verse count, because Al-Baqarah's verses are far longer than those of the last juz. We use the Madinah mushaf (604 pages) and spread each surah's pages evenly across its verses, so the page figure per day is approximate within about one page, while the start and end of every portion is an exact verse.
The minutes are an estimate based on the per-page pace you choose, not a fixed requirement.

Finishing the Quran: turning a wish into a daily portion
What usually stops a khatma is not weak intention but a missing number. "I will read what I can" produces a strong first week and then silence, while "twenty pages ending at a known verse" tells you exactly when today's reading is done. This tool turns the intention into a schedule.
Three numbers that settle the reader
- Pages are the practical unit, because the Madinah mushaf is a fixed 604 pages. A thirty day khatma is about twenty pages a day, one full juz.
- Juz and hizb suit readers who think in "a juz a day", while a two month plan shows half a juz.
- Minutes estimate the time your portion needs at your own pace. Choose the minutes per page you actually read, not the pace you wish for, and the schedule stays honest.
Ways to spread the portion
- Across the five prayers: split the portion into five, so twenty pages become four pages after each obligatory prayer. This is the easiest shape for anyone with a working day, and the split option shows the exact start and end of each part.
- Before sleep and after Fajr: two halves only, for readers with two clear windows.
- A double portion in Ramadan: for two completions, set the days to fifteen and read that portion.
When to plan by finish date
If a date matters to you - Laylat al-Qadr, the end of Ramadan, a memorisation test - enter the finish date and the number of days is calculated for you. If you fell behind, set the start date to today and the remaining pages are redistributed without guilt.
Manner of reading matters more than clearing rows
The purpose is reflection, not merely clearing a quota; the Prophet, peace be upon him, recited slowly and measuredly. If your time is tight, reduce the daily portion to what you can read calmly. Two reflective pages are better than twenty rushed ones. For revision help see similar passages, and to trace a word or theme use Quran search.
